Is traditional meditation not for you?
Have you been told countless times that the solution is to sit in meditation, close your eyes, and observe your thoughts?
Have you tried it—and it simply doesn’t work for you?
Me neither.
I’m Pilar, a yoga teacher, traveler, adventurer, and creator of a space for personal development retreats and alternative therapies in Granada, Andalusia. For years, I’ve divided my life between Spain and Puerto Escondido, Mexico—a magical place where I spend much of the year and that has taught me a different way of understanding connection, nature, and presence.
When I began my personal growth journey over 10 years ago, I constantly heard that meditation was the answer to everything. But the truth is, I was never good at sitting still and observing my thoughts.
For a long time, I thought the problem was me—until I discovered something essential: there are many ways to meditate.
Meditation is presence
Meditation is not just sitting in silence. Meditation is presence. It is being here, fully here.
It is stepping out of the mental loop of what happened, what will happen, or what is still unresolved… and inhabiting the present moment.
And I found that presence through movement:
Through yoga, conscious breathing, dance, authentic human connection, nature, the sound of the ocean, surfing, travel, writing, tantra (understood as vital energy), and the deeper way of inhabiting life itself.
Coming back to the body
We live in a society that is deeply disconnected from the body. We use it as a functional tool: to produce, to perform, to endure. But we rarely listen to it.
And yet, you are not only your mind—you are also your body.
Your body speaks constantly: through sensations, emotions, intuition, pleasure, fatigue, tension, or illness. Sometimes it whispers… and sometimes it screams.
Learning to listen to it changes everything.
This is where this retreat is born from: HABITAR EL CUERPO – “Inhabiting the Body.”
HABITAR EL CUERPO
Retreat in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico
3 nights · 4 days
There are places where the earth beats differently.
Where the ocean is not a landscape… but medicine.
Where the sun doesn’t only illuminate… it reveals what lives within you.
This retreat is an invitation to return to your essence, held by the power of the Pacific Ocean and the living magic of Mexico.
For four days, we will inhabit a space by the sea, where the sound of the waves becomes part of our practice.
🌺 The intention
To inhabit the body is to come home.
This retreat is an invitation to step out of the mind, expectations, and control, and enter into deep listening of the body as a living, wise, emotional territory.
A space to release what has been held inside, recover sensitivity, and reconnect with a more organic and authentic way of being—both in relationship with others and with nature.
This is not a retreat to do more.
It is a retreat to remember.
Your natural rhythm.
Your intuition.
Your inner fire.
Your deep calm.
